That same day two of them went to a village called Emmaus, which was about seven miles from Jerusalem.
And they talked together of all these things which had happened. During their conversation and discussion, Jesus himself drew near and walked with them. . . . .

And it came to pass, as he sat at the table with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and broke it, and gave it to them.
Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized him; ... and they rose up at once, and returned to Jerusalem,
and found the eleven gathered together, ... And they told what had happened on the road, and how they had recognized Jesus in the breaking of the bread.
